I will bring My righteousness near
This morning I was encouraged by Isaiah 46:12-13: "Listen to Me, O hardhearted ones, who are far from righteousness..." After that opening, I would expect "repent," "shape up", etc. However, it continues with "I will bring My righteousness near..." I often feel like giving up on people--they don't meet my expectations. So forget about them! However, realizing that I am also one of the hardhearted ones and I have a long way to go and realizing that my daily salvation is not through condemnation or judgment but the hope of having Him near, I welcome Him and His righteousness to come near to me and others around me. After I judge people, I dismiss them as hopeless cases. But when I consider Jesus bringing His righteousness near, I have hope for them. Lord Jesus, have your way in us. Come where we are at and save us more today.
